In Qatar, there is no organized system of street postal addresses for the home delivery of mail. Instead, citizens and residents rent mailboxes at their local post office station.
International and domestic mail delivery in Qatar is overseen by the General Postal Corporation – or Q-Post – an independent corporation that has been operating since 1950. A member of the International Postal Union since 1969, Q-Post offers a full range of courier and mail delivery service options.
Post Offices
The head office of Q-Post is located on Corniche Road in Doha. This modern, five-storey facility is equipped with thousands of electronically-accessed mailboxes. The office is open to the public six days a week.
Across the country, satellite branches provide a variety of services of interest to travelers and residents. These include mailbox rental, international money transfer and passport renewal, and bill payments for companies such as Qtel and KAHRAMAA
